Mumbai, October 12: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai to pay respect to Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He also unveiled a plaque to mark the laying of foundation stone of Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial at the Indu Mills Compound, in Mumbai.
Notably, the demand for Dr. Ambedkar's memorial at the Indu Mills was long overdue since many years but recently Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis accepted the demand and granted each and every possible assistance for building a grand memorial in the name of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
On this special occasion, PM Modi specifically made it clear that his government in centre as well as BJP led government in Maharashtra is dedicated to work for the people who belongs to backward and marginal section of the society and that they will never do or propose such things which will affect or harm such people.
He also warned people to not pay heed to rumours about scrapping reservation system and said that only lies are being spread with negative agenda.
Prime Minister also announced that November 26, the day Constitution was adopted, will be observed as 'Samvidhan Divas' as a step towards spreading awareness about the life of its chief architect Dr B R Ambedkar.
He said his government has started a project to develop five landmarks associated with the life of the architect of the Indian Constitution as "Panch teerths"-- five holy places for millions to come and pay homage.
He urged 40,000 thousand villages of Maharashtra to come bring one-one saplings to Indu Mill memorial construction siteand he urged same from each states of India.
Talking about this, he said, “by taking such novel steps only they will be able to pay true homage to Babasaheb.” It would be possible to make his memorial a true 'Shantisthal' (a place for peace).
Yesterday, PM Modi also laid foundation stone of the Fourth Container Terminal of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port at Mumbai which is being built with the help of Rs. 7,900 crore.
Apart from this, he also laid foundation stone of elevated Metro routes- Dahisar to D.N. Nagar and Andheri (East) to Dahisar (East).
